Former Pakistan team director and interim head coach Mohammad Hafeez claimed that the national selectors made a deal with three players to pick them for the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Hafeez didn’t name the trio, but alleged that this was the main reason they were in the squad.
The men in green had a disastrous campaign in the T20 World Cup as they began with a shock loss to the United States of America before losing a low-scoring thriller against India.
Pakistan bounced back to take down Canada and Ireland, but those victories went in vain as they were eliminated in the group stage of the competition.
“PCB Selection Committee has done a deal with three players and picked them for T20 World Cup,” Hafeez was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X, formerly known as Twitter.
