Former captain Salman Butt has ripped the Pakistan team apart for showing no energy during the 2024 T20 World Cup, asking if they walked to the United States of America.
He said the players looked “very lethargic” and added that the team seemed as if they “have been playing cricket for 150 years”.
The men in green lost their first two T20 World Cup matches against the United States of America and India before bouncing back to defeat Canada and Ireland.
However, their two victories went in vain as they were eliminated in the group stage of the competition.
“It seemed that the Pakistan team came to USA on foot. Body language was very lethargic and there was no energy. It also seemed like we have been playing cricket for 150 years,” Salman said on Cricket Baithak’s YouTube channel as quoted by NDTV.
