Babar Azam: “He plays in the top order and we already have a lot of players for [the] top order including me, Rizwan, Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman”

Pakistan limited overs captain Babar Azam has admitted that he can’t see any space in the batting order for top order hitter Mohammad Haris.
Haris was once a go-to player for the men in green as he possesses plenty of firepower and can score quick runs.
However, he lost his place in the side and hasn’t represented his country since September 2023.
Haris is trying to make a comeback to the team, but Azam pointed out that the top order is packed with talented batsmen like Mohammad Rizwan, Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman and himself.
“He plays in the top order and we already have a lot of players for [the] top order including me, Rizwan, Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Azam recently led Pakistan in their five-match T20I series against New Zealand and struck 125 runs, which included a top score of 69, at an average of 31.25 and a strike-rate of 138.88.
He then featured in the three-match T20I series against Ireland and amassed 132 runs, which included two fifties, at an average of 44 and a strike-rate of 148.31.
As for the four-match T20I series against England, he finished with 68 runs in two games at an average of 34 and a strike-rate of 141.66.
Azam then captained Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup and accumulated 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
The men in green lost their first two matches against the United States of America and India before rebounding to beat Canada and Ireland.
Despite this, they ended up being eliminated in the group stage.
