Shahid Afridi: “I was also a bit surprised by Hasan Ali’s selection. Maybe the selection committee thought that we need an experienced back-up bowler, but if I talk about performance, I don’t see any such performance from Hasan Ali”

Legendary Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has questioned the selection of Hasan Ali, saying he has seen nothing special from the veteran fast bowler as of late.
Hasan was called up to the T20I team for the three-match series against Ireland, where he went wicketless and conceded 42 runs off three overs in the one game he played.
While Afridi acknowledged that the national selectors picked Hasan for his experience, he believes that from a performance standpoint, the 29-year-old hasn’t been anywhere near his best.
“I was also a bit surprised by Hasan Ali’s selection. Maybe the selection committee thought that we need an experienced back-up bowler, but if I talk about performance, I don’t see any such performance from Hasan Ali,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Hasan wasn’t picked for the 2024 T20 World Cup, where Pakistan lost to the United States of America and India before triumphing over Canada and Ireland.
Their two victories went in vain though as the men in green were eliminated in the group stage of the tournament.
