Former India batsman Mohammad Kaif said Pakistan powerhouse Iftikhar Ahmed scores faster than most of the other batsmen in the team.

Iftikhar generally deals in boundaries and has a very high strike-rate, which is something Kaif touched on as he noted that most of Pakistan’s batsmen have a strike-rate of 120 to 125.

In the 2024 T20 World Cup, the 33-year-old from Peshawar was not that effective for the men in green as he was restricted to 23 runs in two matches at an average of 11.50 and a strike-rate of 100.

“Iftikhar Ahmad plays fast but other than that, everyone plays at a strike-rate of 120 to 125,” Kaif told Star Sports as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.

Pakistan lost their first two T20 World Cup games against the United States of America and India before fighting back to beat Canada and Ireland.

Their comeback was not enough to earn them a spot in the Super Eights and they were thus eliminated in the group stage of the tournament.
