Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja has blasted the team management following the men in green’s shambolic performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup, saying “you have completely made a cock-up of this team”.
Ramiz expressed his frustration at Pakistan’s constant experimentation and insisted that “a proper combination” needs to be decided on.
He added that the “phobia of strike-rate” must be eliminated as Pakistan don’t have many quick-scoring batsmen.
“They should stop experimenting with the team. Go into a game with a proper combination. You need to get out of the phobia of strike-rate because you don’t have that kind of player. Aapne is team ka satyanash kar diya hai (You have completely made a cock-up of this team),” Ramiz said on his YouTube channel as quoted by NDTV.
Pakistan lost their first two T20 World Cup games against the United States of America and India before bouncing back to defeat Canada and Ireland.
Even though they triumphed in their last two group stage matches, the men in green failed to advance to the Super Eights.
