Ramiz Raja: “Imad Wasim should be picked in all games”

Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja wants Imad Wasim to become the first-choice spinner in the national team over Shadab Khan.
Ramiz noted that Imad has been performing well and should feature in all games for the men in green.
His comments come at a time where Shadab has been struggling to take wickets. In fact, the 25-year-old hasn’t dismissed a batsman since Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand in April 2024.
As a result, Ramiz conceded it is time white-ball captain Babar Azam and the team management demoted Shadab and promoted Imad as the go-to spin bowler.
“Imad Wasim should be picked in all games,” he said on his YouTube channel as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
In the ongoing 2024 T20 World Cup, Shadab has featured in three games, but gone wicketless. He didn’t bowl in Pakistan’s last two matches against India and Canada.
As for Imad, he has also failed to take any wickets in the two games he has played.
Pakistan will be eliminated in the group stage of the competition after losing to the United States of America and India.
They followed those two losses with a seven-wicket win over Canada and will play their last T20 World Cup game against Ireland on June 16 in Lauderhill.
