Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal believes white-ball captain Babar Azam’s career could be in danger as he is listening to people “giving him wrong advice”.
He also blasted the 29-year-old for looking like a clueless child and making poor decisions as captain.
Under Azam’s leadership, the men in green have endured a disappointing campaign in the ongoing 2024 T20 World Cup.
Pakistan began with back-to-back losses to the United States of America and India before bouncing back to beat Canada by seven wickets.
“Babar looks [like] a kid who’s failing to understand. People are using him. Perhaps Babar is also compromising on many decisions. I’m afraid we might lose Babar. The career of Babar will be in danger due to people who are giving him wrong advice,” Akmal was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Next up for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup will be Ireland, who they will face on June 16 in Lauderhill.
