Usman Shinwari: “My favourite player is Babar Azam, without a doubt”

Usman Shinwari, the Pakistan left-arm fast bowler, confirmed that captain Babar Azam is his “favourite player” right now.
Azam regularly leads by example with the bat and is a big impact player as he often leads the men in green across the finish line.
His consistency when it comes to scoring runs is one of the key reasons why he is considered to be among the best batsmen in the world today.
“My favourite player is Babar Azam, without a doubt,” Shinwari was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Azam recently led Pakistan in a five-match T20I series against New Zealand and accumulated 125 runs, which included a top score of 69, at an average of 31.25 and a strike-rate of 138.88.
He then featured in a three-match T20I series against Ireland and amassed 132 runs, which included two fifties, at an average of 44 and a strike-rate of 148.31.
Following this, the 29-year-old from Lahore struck 68 runs in two T20Is against England at an average of 34 and a strike-rate of 141.66.
Pakistan are now involved in the 2024 T20 World Cup and kicked off their campaign with a shocking loss to the United States of America.
In that game, Azam scored 44 runs off 43 balls, which included three boundaries and two sixes.
Pakistan’s next match will be against arch-rivals India on June 9 in New York.
