Pakistan big-hitter Azam Khan said he is “never satisfied” with his performances and is always looking to do better.
Azam is one of the top power-hitters in the country and has been a solid performer in domestic cricket and various T20 leagues.
However, he has not been able to replicate that success in international cricket as he has only mustered 88 runs in 13 T20Is at an average of 9.77 and a strike-rate of 135.38.
The 25-year-old knows he is by no means perfect and is always willing to put in the work to become a better player.
“I’m never satisfied with my performance. I always strive to do better,” he told Geo News.
Azam missed Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand with a grade one tear in his right calf muscle, but returned to score 48 runs in three T20Is against Ireland at an average of 48 and a strike-rate of 266.66.
As for the four-match T20I series against England, he made 11 runs in two games at an average of 5.50 and a strike-rate of 73.33.
Pakistan will now be in action in the 2024 T20 World Cup, which is taking place in the West Indies and United States of America.
The men in green’s first T20 World Cup game will be against the United States of America in Dallas on June 6.
