Legendary Pakistan spinner Saqlain Mushtaq said he would always pick iconic left-arm seamer Wasim Akram in any team as he stepped up all the time.
Saqlain’s comments came when he was creating his all-time ODI XI.
Wasim, who many believe is Pakistan’s greatest-ever fast bowler, featured in 104 Tests and claimed 414 wickets at an average of 23.62.
He is also the second-highest wicket-taker in ODI history as he snapped up 502 wickets in 356 matches at an average of 23.52.
“In bowlers, my first pick would be Wasim Akram. You can’t take him out of any team. Doesn’t matter the opposition, the pressure, the conditions, he would always step up,” Saqlain was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
