Former England captain Nasser Hussain said Pakistan left-arm spinner Imad Wasim is “quite brilliant” as he is right back “into the wickets” after reversing his decision to retire from international cricket.
Imad opted to play for Pakistan again after the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and made his comeback in the five-match T20I series against New Zealand, where he took one wicket in two games at an average of 37 and an economy rate of 7.40.
He then proceeded to snap up two wickets in three T20Is against Ireland at an average of 36 and an economy rate of 7.20.
Following this, he claimed two wickets in one T20I against England at an average of 9.50 and an economy rate of 4.75.
“Imad Wasim out of retirement and into the wickets. Quite brilliant from Imad Wasim,” Hussain was quoted as saying by respected journalist Saj Sadiq on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan will now be involved in the 2024 T20 World Cup, which is taking place in the West Indies and United States of America.
Pakistan’s first T20 World Cup game will be against the United States of America in Dallas on June 6.
