Legendary Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt said iconic Pakistan left-arm seamer Wasim Akram was “one of my favourites growing up” as he loved his in-swinging yorkers.
Wasim, who is arguably the best fast bowler Pakistan has ever produced, represented his country in 104 Tests and took 414 wickets at an average of 23.62.
He is also the second-highest wicket-taker in ODI history as he claimed 502 wickets in 356 matches at an average of 23.52.
“Over the years, one of my favourites growing up was Wasim Akram because of the in-swinging yorker that he had,” Bolt told the Press Trust of India (PTI) as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan team recently took on New Zealand in a five-match T20I series, which ended as 2-2 draw.
They then faced Ireland in three T20Is and triumphed 2-1.
Right now, the men in green are playing a four-match T20I series against England and find themselves trailing 1-0.
Following this, they will be in action in the 2024 T20 World Cup, which will be played in the West Indies and United States of America from June 1 to 29.
Pakistan’s first T20 World Cup game will be against the United States of America in Dallas on June 6.
