Pakistan left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir has issued a warning to India captain Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli, saying he is determined to get them out in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Amir has gotten both batsmen out before, but acknowledged that he would love to do so again, especially since they are “world-class” performers.

India and Pakistan are scheduled to meet in the T20 World Cup on June 9 in New York.

“The hope is to take [the] wickets of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, they are world-class batsmen,” Amir was quoted as saying by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Amir reversed his decision to retire from international cricket after the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and made his comeback in the five-match T20I series against New Zealand, where he took three wickets in four games at an average of 28.66 and an economy rate of 8.32.

He then featured in the three-match T20I series against Ireland and claimed two wickets in two games at an average of 38 and an economy rate of 9.50.

Pakistan are now playing four T20Is against England, with the series currently tied 0-0 after the first match was abandoned due to rain.

After this, the men in green will be involved in the T20 World Cup, which will take place in the West Indies and United States of America from June 1 to 29.

Pakistan’s first T20 World Cup game will be against the United States of America in Dallas on June 6.
