Former South Africa pace bowler Vernon Philander has confirmed that he would be interested in working with the Pakistan team in a coaching capacity once again.
Philander previously served as a bowling consultant and enjoyed helping the Pakistan cricketers develop their game and become better players.
The men in green recently got a new coaching staff, with Gary Kirsten taking over as limited overs head coach and Jason Gillespie coming in as the red-ball coach. Former Pakistan all-rounder Azhar Mahmood was also appointed as the assistant coach in all three formats.
Should the opportunity arise in the future, Philander reiterated that he would be more than happy to join the Pakistan team for another spell.
“If I’m allowed the opportunity again, I’ll definitely take it with both hands,” he told PakPassion.
The Pakistan team recently took on New Zealand in a five-match T20I series, which finished as a 2-2 draw.
They then faced Ireland in a three-match T20I series, which they won 2-1.
Pakistan’s next assignment will see them play four T20Is against England from May 22 to May 30.
Following this, they will participate in the 2024 T20 World Cup, which will be played in the West Indies and United States of America from June 1 to 29.
Pakistan’s first T20 World Cup game will be against the United States of America in Dallas on June 6.
