Pakistan top order batsman Ahmed Shehzad has claimed that power-hitter Mohammad Haris hired a public relations (PR) team while demanding that he be selected in the national team.

Shehzad noted that Haris’ PR team “ran a campaign on social media” that called for his inclusion in the side.

The 23-year-old from Peshawar used to be a regular face in limited overs cricket, but inconsistent performances resulted in him getting dropped.

As a result, he last represented his country in September 2023.

“Mohammad Haris hired a PR Team that ran a campaign on social media and demanded his inclusion in the national side,” Shehzad was quoted as saying by A Sports.

The Pakistan team recently played a five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which ended as a 2-2 draw.

They then took on Ireland in a three-match T20I series and triumphed 2-1.

Pakistan’s next assignment will see them play four T20Is against England from May 22 to May 30.

Afterwards, they will take part in the 2024 T20 World Cup, which will be played in the West Indies and United States of America from June 1 to 29.

Pakistan’s first T20 World Cup game will be against the United States of America in Dallas on June 6.
