Imad Wasim: “We have no issues with Babar. He is the captain of the team and we are all supporting him. Maybe Babar has become captain again because he will lead us to the World Cup trophy”

Pakistan spinner Imad Wasim has once again denied that he and left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir have a problem with limited overs captain Babar Azam.
Rumours of the rift have been swirling for a long time, but each time Imad is asked about it, he has made it clear that no such bad blood exists.
The 35-year-old added that he and Amir are instead supporting Azam and are hoping to see the 29-year-old lead Pakistan to victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
“We have no issues with Babar. He is the captain of the team and we are all supporting him. Maybe Babar has become captain again because he will lead us to the World Cup trophy,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Azam recently captained Pakistan in their five-match T20I series against New Zealand and made 125 runs, which included a top score of 69, at an average of 31.25 and a strike-rate of 138.88.
In the three-match T20I series against Ireland, he scored 132 runs, which included two fifties, at an average of 44 and a strike-rate of 148.31.
Azam will now lead Pakistan in four T20Is against England from May 22 to May 30.
Afterwards, the men in green will take part in the T20 World Cup, which will be held in the West Indies and United States of America from June 1 to 29.
Pakistan’s first T20 World Cup game will be against the United States of America in Dallas on June 6.
