Pakistan limited overs captain Babar Azam has lavished praise on wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan, saying he is “a fighter” who always gives 100 percent.

Rizwan has long been one of Pakistan’s top batsmen as he regularly scores runs in all three formats.

Even when the men in green find themselves in tough situations or he is going through a minor rough patch, the 31-year-old from Peshawar digs deep and looks to produce match-winning performances.

For Azam, these are some of the best qualities for any cricketer to have.

“He is a fighter and always tries to give his best,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Rizwan recently featured in Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which ended as a 2-2 draw, and scored 67 runs in three games.

He then took part in the three-match T20I series against Ireland and made 132 runs, which included two fifties, at an average of 66 and a strike-rate of 150.

The men in green will now play four T20Is against England from May 22 to May 30.

Afterwards, Pakistan will be in action in the 2024 T20 World Cup, which will be held in the West Indies and United States of America from June 1 to 29.

Pakistan’s first T20 World Cup game will be against the United States of America in Dallas on June 6.
