Pakistan selector Wahab Riaz has confirmed that senior pace bowler Hasan Ali was in the selection committee’s plans for the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Hasan recently earned a recall to the T20I team for the three-match series against Ireland.
The 29-year-old from Gujranwala only featured in one game, but failed to have an impact as he went wicketless and conceded 42 runs from the three overs he bowled.
Nonetheless, Wahab reiterated that there is a chance Hasan could make the cut for the T20 World Cup.
“Hasan Ali was already in our plans for T20 World Cup,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Pakistan’s next assignment will see them play four T20Is against England from May 22 to May 30.
Following this, they will feature in the T20 World Cup, which will take place in the West Indies and United States of America from June 1 to 29.
Pakistan’s first T20 World Cup game will be against the United States of America in Dallas on June 6.
