Ravi Bopara: “I personally feel that he’s probably the best fielder in Pakistan as well and he showed it in this competition how good he is”

Karachi Kings assistant coach Ravi Bopara believes fast-rising batsman Irfan Khan is “probably the best fielder in Pakistan”, putting him ahead of top-tier talent like Shadab Khan.
Bopara noted that he was really impressed with Irfan’s fielding during the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
However, calling the 21-year-old Pakistan’s best fielder is sure to divide opinion, especially as the men in green have many brilliant cricketers who shine in the realm of fielding.
“I personally feel that he’s probably the best fielder in Pakistan as well and he showed it in this competition how good he is,” Bopara was quoted as saying by A Sports.
In PSL 9, Irfan scored 171 runs in nine matches at an average of 42.75 and a strike-rate of 140.16.
Despite his strong performance with the bat, the Kings failed to make it to the playoffs as they finished in fifth place on the points table after winning four out of the 10 games they played.
Following PSL 9, Irfan made his international debut in Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand and amassed 48 runs in three games.
However, he went unused in the team’s recent three-match T20I series against Ireland, which Pakistan won 2-1.
Next up for the men in green will be four T20Is against England from May 22 to May 30.
