Shadab Khan believes fellow spin-bowling all-rounder Imad Wasim has to be picked for the 2024 T20 World Cup in June.

Imad recently reversed his decision to retire from international cricket, meaning he will now be available to represent the men in green again.

Having played with the 35-year-old while captaining Islamabad United in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), Shadab conceded that Imad’s performance should earn him a spot in the T20 World Cup team.

“He should be in Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.

In PSL 9, Imad took 12 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 20.91 and an economy rate of 6.60.

He also did well with the bat, scoring 126 runs, which included a top score of 59 not out, at an average of 21 and a strike-rate of 128.57.

As for Shadab, he claimed 14 wickets in 12 games at an average of 26.85 and an economy rate of 8.54.

He also amassed 305 runs, which included three fifties, at an average of 30.50 and a strike-rate of 142.52.
