Imad Wasim: “Pakistan fans feel bad when we praise Virat Kohli, but the truth is that he’s a greater player than Babar Azam”

Pakistan left-arm spinner Imad Wasim believes he is telling the truth when saying India superstar Virat Kohli is “a greater player” than Babar Azam.
Kohli and Azam have constantly been compared to each other since they are the batting spearheads of their respective countries.
Imad noted that “Pakistan fans feel bad” when their own cricketers praise Kohli, but he insisted that there is no denying Kohli’s run-scoring mastery.
“Pakistan fans feel bad when we praise Virat Kohli, but the truth is that he’s a greater player than Babar Azam,” the 35-year-old was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Imad, who has reversed his decision to retire from international cricket, recently played for Islamabad United in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and took 12 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 20.91 and an economy rate of 6.60.
He also had an impact with the bat, scoring 126 runs, which included a top score of 59 not out, at an average of 21 and a strike-rate of 128.57.
Islamabad won PSL 9 after beating the Multan Sultans by two wickets in the final.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which will be held in Rawalpindi and Lahore from April 18 to 27.
