Pakistan spin-bowling all-rounder Shadab Khan is hoping his bowling improves even more after he worked hard to fix a few “technical issues.”

Going into the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), Shadab was being criticised heavily due to his inability to take wickets consistently, despite being Pakistan’s go-to spinner in limited overs cricket.

However, the 25-year-old from Mianwali redeemed himself while captaining Islamabad United and played an instrumental role in their road to the title.

Shadab took 14 wickets in 12 games at an average of 26.85 and an economy rate of 8.54.

He also had an impact with the bat, amassing 305 runs, which included three fifties, at an average of 30.50 and a strike-rate of 142.52.

“I was struggling while bowling but I have tried to fix the technical issues and I’m hopeful there will be further improvement in my bowling. When I perform as a bowler, it benefits the team a lot,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Islamabad were crowned champions in PSL 9 after beating the Multan Sultans by two wickets in the final.

Pakistan’s next assignment will be a five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which will be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore from April 18 to 27.
