Pakistan spin-bowling all-rounder Shadab Khan confirmed he has been working with legendary spinner Saqlain Mushtaq in a bid to improve his bowling.
Shadab has struggled to take wickets consistently, which was one of the reasons why he lost his place in the national team in the past.
Now that he is training with Mushtaq, the 26-year-old is confident “good results will follow”.
“Saqlain Mushtaq is working with me to improve my bowling. I am hopeful that with his guidance, good results will follow, and there will be consistency in my performances,” the Mianwali native told Cricket Pakistan.
Shadab was recently named Pakistan’s T20I vice-captain and featured in their five-match series against New Zealand, where he took one wicket at an average of 143 and an economy rate of 11.
He then captained Islamabad United in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and fared a lot better with the ball, claiming 14 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 16.57 and an economy rate of 7.90.
He continued his good run of form in the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh as he picked up four wickets at an average of 16.25 and an economy rate of 7.22.
Pakistan won the series 3-0.
