Former Australia captain Michael Clarke believes leg-spinner Shadab Khan’s “bowling is underrated” and he deserves more credit.
His comments come after Shadab captained Islamabad United to victory in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The 25-year-old from Mianwali was brilliant with the ball throughout the tournament as he took 14 wickets in 12 games at an average of 26.85 and an economy rate of 8.54.
He also had a major impact with the bat, scoring 305 runs, which included three fifties, at an average of 30.50 and a strike-rate of 142.52.
“Shadab’s bowling is underrated,” Clarke was quoted as saying by respected journalist Saj Sadiq on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Islamabad were crowned PSL 9 champions after they beat the Multan Sultans by two wickets in the final.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which will take place in Rawalpindi and Lahore from April 18 to 27.
