Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan: “I did not meet that standard of performance that I consider for myself”

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan admitted he was not satisfied with his performance in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he fell short of his own expectations.
Rizwan captained the Multan Sultans in the tournament and amassed 407 runs in 12 games, which included four fifties, at an average of 33.91 and a strike-rate of 122.22.
Despite being the third-highest run-scorer in PSL 9, the 31-year-old reiterated that he should have done better.
“I am not completely satisfied with my performance. Yes, it’s true that my performance contributed to winning runs in two matches, but it’s also true that the performance I set for myself or the expectations I have for myself, I did not meet that standard of performance that I consider for myself,” he told Cricket Pakistan.
The Sultans managed to reach their fourth consecutive final in PSL 9, but were unable to lift the trophy as they lost to Islamabad United by two wickets.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which will be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore from April 18 to 27.
