Fast bowler Haris Rauf has revealed that he “had a dream to serve [in the] Pakistan Army” and admitted it felt great to be training with them.

The players in the national team are taking part in a fitness camp being held in Kakul, Abbottabad, ahead of the five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which will be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore from April 18 to 27.

Rauf recently played for the Lahore Qalandars in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), but was limited to four matches as he dislocated his shoulder.

It is understood that the 30-year-old should be close to making a full recovery, meaning he could feature in the T20I series against the Black Caps.

“I had a dream to serve [in the] Pakistan Army and today I’m doing training with them,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X, formerly known as Twitter.
