Former Australia captain Michael Clarke has heaped praise on left-arm spinner Imad Wasim, calling him a “very intelligent bowler.”
Clarke was recently part of the commentary team during the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and saw Imad in action for Islamabad United, who went on to be crowned champions.
The 35-year-old, who has reversed his decision to retire from international cricket, took 12 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 20.91 and an economy rate of 6.60.
He also contributed with the bat, accumulating 126 runs, which included a top score of 59 not out, at an average of 21 and a strike-rate of 128.57.
“Imad Wasim is a very intelligent bowler,” Clarke was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Islamabad won PSL 9 after beating the Multan Sultans by two wickets in the final.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which will be held in Rawalpindi and Lahore from April 18 to 27.
