Islamabad United head coach Mike Hesson said Pakistan pace sensation Ubaid Shah is faster and gets more bounce than his brothers Naseem and Hunain.
Ubaid is currently one of the star players in the Pakistan Under-19 team and dominated at the Under-19 World Cup, taking 18 wickets in six matches at an average of 12.38.
Recently, the 18-year-old played for Islamabad in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), but went wicketless in the two games he featured in.
Nonetheless, Hesson sees the teenager as an exciting prospect who could light up Pakistan cricket in the near future.
“Ubaid just got a couple of games at the start and obviously was very impressive in the Under-19s. Probably a bit more pace and a bit more bounce, bowls a different length than the other two (Naseem and Hunain),” he told PakPassion.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which will be held in Rawalpindi and Lahore from April 18 to 27.
