Ramiz Raja: “Agha Salman is a very good all-round cricketer. This is a T20 World Cup year and Pakistan needs someone like him in the middle order”

Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja believes the men in green will need middle order batsman Salman Ali Agha for the 2024 T20 World Cup in June.
Salman has established a reputation for himself as a reliable batsman and a handy part-time bowler who can take wickets.
Since he can contribute in multiple areas, Ramiz hopes the 30-year-old gets selected in the Pakistan team for the T20 World Cup, which will be held in the West Indies and United States of America from June 1 to 29.
“Agha Salman is a very good all-round cricketer. This is a T20 World Cup year and Pakistan needs someone like him in the middle order. I hope he clicks and he gets selected for Pakistan in the T20 team,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Salman recently played for Islamabad United in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and scored 310 runs in 12 matches, which included two fifties, at an average of 31 and a strike-rate of 140.27.
He also took two wickets at an average of 48.50 and an economy rate of 8.08.
Islamabad ended up winning PSL 9 after beating the Multan Sultans by two wickets in the final.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which will be held in Rawalpindi and Lahore from April 18 to 27.

He can definitely be useful. He’s a great bowler and turning into a handy batsman as well. I think the only thing is how many fast bowlers Pakistan want to pick.
