Former India head coach Ravi Shastri has praised legendary Pakistan batsman Inzamam-ul-Haq, calling him “one of the best players ever.”

In addition to being one of Pakistan’s greatest batsmen, he was also among the top captains produced by the country and has served as chief selector in the past as well.

Inzamam enjoyed a stellar international career, scoring 8,830 runs in 120 Tests, which included 25 centuries and 46 fifties, at an average of 49.60.

He also accumulated 11,739 runs in 378 ODIs, which included 10 hundreds and 83 half-centuries, at an average of 39.52.

As for his T20I career, the 54-year-old from Multan made 11 not out in the one match he played.

“Inzamam-ul-Haq was one of the best players ever. He used to take his time at the crease,” Shastri was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan team will be back in action soon as they will play a five-match T20I series against New Zealand in Rawalpindi and Lahore from April 18 to 27.
