Iconic Pakistan left-arm speedster Wasim Akram has taken a dig at former captain Ramiz Raja over his suggestion that T20 players should be in the Test team.
Ramiz believed that with Test cricket becoming more fast-paced and cricketers adopting a more aggressive approach, Pakistan should keep up with the times by including some of their fast-scoring batsmen in the T20I squad.
However, Wasim was less than impressed with the former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman’s proposition, deeming it ludicrous.
“Who was this genius,” he said on A–Sports show The Pavilion as quoted by NDTV.
Pakistan currently sit in sixth place on the Test rankings and were whitewashed in their most recent assignment, which was a three-match Test series against Australia.
