Legendary Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi believes left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Amir can easily get back into the national team.
His comments come after the 31-year-old announced that he would be reversing his decision to retire from international cricket and making himself available for selection for the 2024 T20 World Cup in June.
Keeping the men in green’s current pace attack in mind, Afridi insisted that Amir is too good to be left on the sidelines and can claim a spot in the team for himself without too much trouble.
“Amir can easily make his way into the lineup of the Pakistan team even today,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Amir recently played for the Quetta Gladiators in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and took 10 wickets in nine matches at an average of 28.60 and an economy rate of 8.41.
The Gladiators managed to make it to the playoffs, but were eliminated after losing to eventual champions Islamabad United in Eliminator 1.
