Sohail Tanvir: “I have very high hopes on few of them like Ali Raza, Ubaid Shah, (Mohammad) Zeeshan”

Pakistan left-arm seamer Sohail Tanvir has “high hopes” for the teenage pace trio of Ali Raza, Ubaid Shah and Mohammad Zeeshan, and believes they can have long international careers.
All three of them are currently in the Pakistan Under-19 team and have made their names known with strong performances.
Raza is just 16 years old, while Zeeshan and Ubaid, who is the brother of first-choice Pakistan speedster Naseem Shah, are 17 and 18 years old respectively.
Encouraged by their good form lately, Tanvir wants them to play more cricket so that they keep improving their skills and become better bowlers.
“I have very high hopes on few of them like Ali Raza, Ubaid Shah, (Mohammad) Zeeshan. Obviously, as I said, it’s early days but with the passage of time as they play more cricket, I think they will learn and they can serve Pakistan cricket for a longer period,” he told PakPassion.
Zeeshan and Ubaid were recently in action in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), with the former playing for the Peshawar Zalmi and the latter representing Islamabad United, who went on to lift the trophy after beating the Multan Sultans by two wickets in the final.
Zeeshan took one wicket in three games at an average of 112 and an economy rate of 10.18.
As for Ubaid, he went wicketless in the two matches he played.
