Pakistan left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Amir has confirmed that he has no interest in playing international cricket right now as he is enjoying playing in different T20 leagues around the world.
Amir ended his Pakistan career in December 2020 and has not looked back since then.
While the 31-year-old has shown signs of potentially wanting to play for his country again, he hasn’t taken any concrete steps to make it happen.
His latest comments, though, seem to indicate that he has moved on from international cricket.
“I would have felt the absence of international cricket if I were not playing cricket. I am enjoying league cricket, and international cricket is not on my mind,” Amir was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Amir is currently playing for the Quetta Gladiators in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and has taken eight wickets in eight matches at an average of 33.25 and an economy rate of 8.86.
The Gladiators made it through to the playoffs and will face Islamabad United in Eliminator 1 on March 15.
