Steve Smith: “He’s a good cricketer, Shadab”

Australia batting maestro Steve Smith said Pakistan spin-bowling all-rounder Shadab Khan is a “good cricketer.”
Shadab is one of the more unique players in the Pakistan team as he is capable of having an impact with the ball, bat and in the field as well.
The 25-year-old is his country’s go-to spinner in limited overs cricket, but even though he hasn’t been in top form in his last few games for the men in green, Smith knows how useful of an asset the Mianwali native is.
“He’s a good cricketer, Shadab,” he said in a video posted by cricket.com.au on Instagram.
Currently, Shadab is captaining Islamabad United in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and has taken 10 wickets in nine matches at an average of 26.70 and an economy rate of 8.34.
As for his batting, he has scored 278 runs, which includes three fifties, at an average of 39.71 and a strike-rate of 145.54.
Having made it to the PSL playoffs, Islamabad will face the Quetta Gladiators in Eliminator 1 on March 15.
