Abid Ali, the Pakistan opening batsman, has admitted that it is always fun to watch Babar Azam batting as he delivers sheer entertainment.
Azam has been scoring runs regularly in all three formats over the past few years, which has solidified his reputation as one of the best batsmen in world cricket.
His efforts have been recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as he has won the coveted Men’s Cricketer of the Year award in the past.
“His [Babar] batting skills – it’s always fun to watch him play,” Abid told Cricket Pakistan.
Azam’s form has been a bit turbulent lately as he scored 126 runs in three Tests against Australia at an average of 21.
He had more success in the five-match T20I series against New Zealand as he amassed 213 runs, which included three fifties, at an average of 42.60 and a strike-rate of 142.
Currently, he is captaining the Peshawar Zalmi in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and has struck 498 runs in nine matches, which includes a century and five fifties, at an average of 62.25 and a strike-rate of 148.65.
