Legendary West Indies batsman Sir Viv Richards is glad Pakistan left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir is playing for the Quetta Gladiators, saying he is a “classy inclusion.”
Amir retired from international cricket in December 2020 and has been featuring in many T20 leagues around the world.
Since he has been in good form as of late, Richards, who is the Gladiators’ mentor, expects the 31-year-old from Gujar Khan to shine in the ongoing 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
“I have always praised Mohammad Amir and I’m happy to see him play for Quetta Gladiators. Amir will be a classy inclusion for Quetta,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
So far, Amir has taken five wickets in six matches at an average of 39.20 and an economy rate of 8.90.
