Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed believes left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Amir is more than capable of representing the national team again should he decide to come out of retirement.
Amir retired from international cricket in December 2020 and has since been involved in numerous T20 leagues, where he has done incredibly well.
Having seen the amount of success the 31-year-old has had, Sarfaraz firmly feels that Amir still “has a lot to offer” the men in green.
“I have always told Amir that he can still play for Pakistan since he has a lot to offer,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Currently, Amir is playing alongside Sarfaraz for the Quetta Gladiators in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and has snapped up four wickets in four matches at an average of 34.50 and an economy rate of 8.62.
As for Sarfaraz, he has made 15 runs in five games at an average of five and a strike-rate of 71.42.
