Shaun Tait, the former Australia pace bowler, believes that Pakistan seamer Naseem Shah is a “fantastic player” who is “mature beyond his years.”

Naseem is only 21 years old but has already established himself as one of the young superstars in international cricket.

He has become a mainstay in the Pakistan team in all three formats and has formed a formidable bowling partnership with Shaheen Shah Afridi.

“I think he is a fantastic player. He is mature beyond his years as well,” Tait, who used to be Pakistan’s bowling coach, told respected journalist Saj Sadiq as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.

Naseem recently recovered from a shoulder injury he suffered in the 2023 Asia Cup, which ruled him out of the ICC Cricket World Cup, along with Pakistan’s three-Test tour of Australia and five-match T20I series against New Zealand.

Currently, he is playing for Islamabad United in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and has taken five wickets in three matches at an average of 19.40 and an economy rate of 8.08.
