Pakistan batting coach Adam Hollioake sees great potential in wicketkeeper-batsman Azam Khan, saying he can be a “destructive” player.
Azam has enjoyed plenty of success in domestic cricket and it was hit impressive performances that earned him a recall to the national team for the recent five-match T20I series against New Zealand.
However, the 25-year-old son of former Pakistan captain Moin Khan failed to deliver in the three games he played as he made scores of 10, 2 and 10.
Despite this, Hollioake believes Azam is a talent worth keeping an eye on as he has what it takes to become a dominant power-hitter.
“Azam Khan is a destructive batsman,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Azam is now playing for Islamabad United in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), which began on February 17.
