Legendary Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar said he used to bowl between 800 and 900 overs in an entire cricket season.
Akhtar is renowned for being one of the most scariest speedsters in the history of the sport as he could unleash wicked fast bouncers and toe-crushing yorkers.
On top of that, he holds the record for the quickest ball ever bowled in international cricket, which was clocked at 161.3 kph (100.2 mph).
“In a season, I used to bowl around 800-900 overs,” he told the Hindustan Times.
Akhtar represented Pakistan in 46 Tests and claimed 178 wickets at an average of 25.69.
The Rawalpindi Express also featured in 163 ODIs and picked up 247 wickets at an average of 24.97.
As for his T20I career, the 48-year-old snapped up 19 wickets in 15 matches at an average of 22.73.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan team have suffered a series of poor results as they were whitewashed 3-0 in their Test series against Australia and beaten 4-1 in a T20I series against New Zealand.
Many of the national players are now involved in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), which started on February 17.
