Mohammad Hafeez: “A big innings will restore his confidence”

Former Pakistan team director Mohammad Hafeez said “a big innings” is what batsman Babar Azam needs to “restore his confidence.”
Azam has been going through a rough patch for a few months, which has been a huge problem for Pakistan as they often look to him to score big runs.
In the three-match Test series against Australia, he was limited to 126 runs at an average of 21.
Following that, he scored 213 runs, which included three fifties, at an average of 42.60 and a strike-rate of 142 in the five-match T20I series against New Zealand.
While it’s clear Azam hasn’t been at his best lately, Hafeez knows that the Lahore native is one big knock away from regaining his form.
“A big innings will restore his confidence,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Azam is now captaining the Peshawar Zalmi in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and has made scores of 68 and 72 in his team’s first two matches against the Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings respectively.
