Mohammad Hafeez: “In my opinion, he has been performing really well in the net”

Pakistan team director Mohammad Hafeez has backed batsman Babar Azam to break out of his rough patch soon as he has been “performing really well in the nets.”
Azam’s form has been a major concern for the men in green as he hasn’t been able to convert many of his starts into big scores.
During the three-match Test series against Australia, he failed to have much of an impact as he was restricted to 126 runs at an average of 21.
However, the 29-year-old showed signs of bouncing back during the five-match T20I series against New Zealand as he accumulated 213 runs, which included three fifties, at an average of 42.60 and a strike-rate of 142.
Having seen flashes of brilliance from the Lahore native, Hafeez believes it is only a matter of time before he is dominating world cricket again.
“In my opinion, he has been performing really well in the nets,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Azam’s next assignment will be the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he will captain the Peshawar Zalmi.
PSL 9 will take place from February 17 to March 18 in four cities – Lahore, Multan, Karachi and Rawalpindi.
