Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood said he has “no concerns” about batsman Babar Azam’s turbulent performances as of late.
Masood knows how good of a player Azam is and expressed confidence that the 29-year-old won’t stay down for long.
He added that whenever the Lahore native comes out to bat, his approach is always positive.
In the recent three-match Test series against Australia, Azam was limited to 126 runs at an average of 21.
He followed that up with 213 runs in the five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which included three fifties, at an average of 42.60 and a strike-rate of 142.
“We have no concerns over his performance. His approach is positive,” Masood was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Azam will now captain the Peshawar Zalmi in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), while Masood will be in charge of the Karachi Kings.
