Legendary Pakistan batsman Mohammad Yousuf believes Haider Ali is a future world star and noted that “everybody is talking about him”.
Haider received a central contract for the 2020-2021 season and was picked for the tour of England following an impressive Pakistan Super League (PSL) campaign earlier this year.
The 19-year-old scored 239 runs in nine matches for the Peshawar Zalmi at an average of 29.87 and a strike-rate of 158.27.
Given all the hype around Haider, Yousuf is hoping the talented youngster starts performing in all three formats and becomes the next Babar Azam.
“He [Haider Ali] is a young player and everybody is talking about him. I hope he starts performing, in all three formats, like Babar Azam and becomes one of the top batsmen in the world,” Yousuf told Cricket Pakistan.
Pakistan are scheduled to play three Tests and three T20 Internationals against England, with the first Test starting on August 5 and the T20 series beginning on August 28.
