Shahbaz Nadeem led India to victory in the second over of the day

Debutant Shahbaz Nadeem took two wickets in two balls as India only needed two overs to wrap up an innings and 202-run win over South Africa on the fourth day in Ranchi.

Starting off the day on 132/8, South Africa only added one run to their score before Theunis de Bruyn, who came in as a concussion substitute for Dean Elgar, was caught behind off the bowling of Nadeem for 30.

The Proteas were bowled out for 133 the very next ball when Lungi Ngidi was caught and bowled after he smashed the ball down the ground and it hit Anrich Nortje, who was at the non-striker’s end, on the wrist. The ball subsequently popped up and Nadeem completed the catch to finish things off.

Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Nadeem and Umesh Yadav took two wickets apiece. As for Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, they claimed one wicket each.

India opener Rohit Sharma was named Man of the Match for his career-best knock of 212.
