Pakistan pace bowler Muhammad Musa has revealed that his cricket idols are Waqar Younis, who is the national team’s bowling coach, and Shoaib Akhtar.

Musa’s comments come after he was picked in the Test and Twenty20 squads for the tour of Australia, which will consist of three Twenty20 Internationals from November 3 to 8, and two Tests from November 21 to December 3.

With Waqar and Akhtar being the cricketers he looked up to, the 19-year-old pointed out that he wants to “instil fear in the batsmen like they did”.

“I am really happy with my selection for the Australia tour, I am not thinking about bowling to the likes of David Warner or Steve Smith, rather I want to make an impression with my pace and penetration,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion.

“My strength is bowling fast, Waqar Younis and Shoaib Akhtar are my fast bowling idols and I want to replicate their performances and instil fear in the batsmen like they did.”
