Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal has vowed to keep playing cricket and refused to give up on his international career until his form deserts him or feels that he is “no longer fit enough to play”.
Akmal has not represented Pakistan since April 2017, but has been one of the top performers in domestic cricket for the past couple of years.
The 37-year-old has already made his frustrations clear about this, but insisted that he will continue trying to put up strong performances in order to convince the national selectors to give him another chance to revive his international career.
“I will continue to play until and unless my form deserts me and I’m no longer fit enough to play,” he told cricketpakistan.com.pk. “The examples of Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq [are] in front of us as they contributed for Pakistan despite being in their late 30s and early 40s.”
