Sarfraz Ahmed: “There is no reason to say sorry. We worked hard. We didn’t come back home with two to four points, we had 11 points”

Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed believes that the national team have nothing to apologise for after they were eliminated from the World Cup.

The men in green got off to a rocky start, but managed to beat England.

However, after their loss to arch-rivals India, Pakistan bounced back brilliantly as they won four consecutive games, during which they beat South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

Despite this, it wasn’t enough to get them into the semi-finals as New Zealand had a better net run rate than them.

Pakistan eventually finished with five wins and three losses, while one of their games was washed out.

With that in mind, Sarfraz pointed out that Pakistan have nothing to be sorry about, especially as they beat England and New Zealand, who are two of the teams that qualified for the semi-finals.

“There is no reason to say sorry. We worked hard. We didn’t come back home with two to four points, we had 11 points. OK, we didn’t perform well in the first five games which we accept, but the performance wasn’t as bad as some people are making it out to be,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion.
